November 25th 2018. Spiritual intimacy (Revelation 2:2-4. Revelation 3:20 Luke 24:45-49) Some of us are activists, some of us are contemplatives by nature. Both personality types are vital in the life of God’s people. Sometimes we need to stir up activity. Sometimes however we need to check ourselves and our relationship with our Lord. As we go into a busy Christmas season and as we want to have a strong vision for mission, and city transformation, what is our secret history with our Lord like? Are we working for Him or with Him? Does he come across as in poverty to you? Download Discussion notes

Sustainable Family. Ephesians - Clare Thompson
November 18th 2018. Sustainable: Sustainable Family. (Ephesians 5 -6:9. Matthew 8-22, 15:3-7).
Family is an issue for all of us, whether family life is great, challenging, or largely absent from our current experience. The bible has a lot to say about families, healthy family life is seen as foundational to the health of wider society. The story of Israel is the story of families. God wants family to be a place where children can be safe to grow into all He has planned for them. In reality family life is often difficult and painful and the bible illustrates this all too starkly in the stories it tells. Download Discussion notes

Sustainable: Planet - David Mitchell
November 4th 2018. Sustainable: Sustainable Planet. (Genesis 2:15. Leviticus 25).
Sustainability is a 21st Century issue and a discipleship issue. We know more about the planet than ever at this time in history and have the best technology to manage it, yet the systems that make the planet a place where humans can thrive are themselves in danger. The problems of climate change and the impact of population growth, consumption and industrialisation affect the whole planet but particularly impact the poorest people in the world. How then should we live? Download Discussion notes

Sharing Jesus... Hazel Askew
October 4th 2018, Sharing Jesus... Hazel Askew (Acts 4:12-14)
“Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved’. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realised that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus”.
Breaking the spirit of poverty: ..through a spirit of generosity - Tim Dobson
November 4th 2018. Breaking the spirit of poverty: ..through a spirit of generosity (2 Corinthians 8)
This week we are starting a new series looking at how we can break the spirit of poverty in our lives and in the society in which we live. We can often be taken captive by fear and anxiety around money and if we will have enough. We can have an impoverished spirit that makes us horde rather than give. This evening we are going to think about how to break this cycle by being generous. Download Discussion notes

Creed: Suffering - Hannah Mitchell and Dave Mitchell
28th October 2018, Creed: Suffered – Hannah Mitchell (Hebrews 2:9)
In our series on the great Christian Creeds we are examining some of the phrases that have summed up orthodox Christian belief for Centuries. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the early Fathers of the Church, meditating on Scripture and in debate with one another distilled some foundational truths that are not just theoretical but deeply enable Christian life and practice. This week we are thinking about what it means for Jesus Christ to have ‘suffered under Pontius Pilate’. This phrase comes from the shorter ‘Apostle’s Creed’ which you might want to read in full at this point. Download Discussion notes
Creed. What we believe and why it's important: Life Everlasting - Philip Jinadu
October 28th 2018. The Creed: What we believe and why it's important: Life Everlasting (1 Corinthians 15) - Philip Jinadu
This week we are concluding our series by looking at "Life Everlasting". What hints does the Bible give us about life after death and how we might be spending eternity?
We understand about everlasting life from passages like John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The everlasting life Jesus spoke of is not simply the unending life of eternity. It speaks of a quality of life. Some scholars even translate the idea of the words everlasting life into “life from heaven” or “life from above.” It means that we believe God gives "His kind of life" to us.
