Kingdom People
In our preaching series this month we are exploring what it means to be Kingdom People — people who live, pursue, pray for, proclaim and advance the Kingdom of God in our everyday lives.
Throughout Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus speaks frequently about the “Kingdom of Heaven”. This was a common Jewish way of referring to the Kingdom of God, using “heaven” in place of God’s name.
But what does this look like in practice? What does it mean to live as citizens of God’s Kingdom in our homes, workplaces, and communities? And how can we see more of God’s Kingdom come in our lives, both individually and together as a church, as well as across our city?
Throughout November, we’ll journey through Matthew’s Gospel to discover what it means to live under the rule of Jesus and participate in His Kingdom purposes. We’ll explore how we can align our lives with His ways, passionately pursue His priorities, pray for His Kingdom to come, boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus, and play our part in seeing His Kingdom advance.
Kingdom People is an invitation to move beyond simply knowing about the Kingdom and to become people who embody its values, demonstrate its power and reflect its King wherever we go. This November, let’s discover what it means to be Kingdom People — a community shaped by Jesus, led by His Spirit and committed to seeing His Kingdom come in our lives, our church and our city.
Here’s what our talks will be looking at each week:
1st November - Living in the Kingdom
8th November - Pursuing the Kingdom
15th November - Praying the Kingdom
22nd November - Proclaiming the Kingdom
29th November - Advancing the Kingdom
We’d encourage everyone to use our discussion notes to go deeper with each sermon topic.
See you on Sundays or catchup on the Livesteam!
