In the New Testament lists of Spiritual Gifts, the language is always inclusive, they are for everyone. There is always a reference to grace, the freely given favour and mercy of the Kingdom. This is the ‘charis’ or freely given love that makes spiritual gifts ‘gracelets’ (as John Wimber called them) available to the Church. Download discussion notes
As we come towards the end of another season, we celebrate another year of God's goodness and faithfulness to us as a group of churches...
A celebration of God's goodness to us as a group of churches over the past year. Let us know what you are thankful for at #WoodiesThanksGiving Join us for worship, videos, good news stories, a glimpse at future plans and the surprisingly entertaining financial accounts!
Ephesians 4:7
Lydia Staley and Emily John tell their stories of coming to faith and why they want to be baptised.
Ria Harding and John Langley tell their stories of meeting Jesus and why they've come to the point of baptism.
At Woodlands we want to cooperate with the work of God’s Holy Spirit and see lives transformed as we journey towards increasing Wholeness.
Prayer Ministry is an opportunity to encounter the power, truth and love of God as someone prays with you, discerning and passing on what they sense God has for you. This could be healing, forgiveness, blessing, encouragement or freedom.
Jesus said… ‘So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’ John 8:36
‘God put his finger on very specific things in my life’
A Woodlands core value is that ‘everyone is a minister’. Anyone who has become a Christian and has had experience of the Holy Spirit has the power and authority to pray like Jesus did. We can all learn to tune in to the different ways in which God speaks to us.
Foundation Training Course
A great day, with the feel of a mini-conference, including teaching, real-life stories, worship, discussion and practice. Open to everyone, the course usually runs twice a year. It covers the basics of how to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit and looks at five key areas which regularly crop up in ministry situations:
‘This has given me greater knowledge of effective ways of praying for others – purpose driven and led by the Spirit’
‘I have noticed a dramatic change in my thought life. I still occasionally get the thoughts but they don't seem to have any power. They don't 'stick' like they used to which is amazingly liberating!’
If it is appropriate, the next step is to join a team which ministers during a Sunday service. You’ll be paired with a more experienced team member and a team leader is always around to give support and feedback. If you'd like to be considered for a team, please email Angela Moseley.
Ministry team members enjoy:
‘the excitement of what God is going to do’
‘seeing God at work in other people’s lives’
‘seeing others find breakthrough’
This is open to those with some experience who want to develop the skills needed in more extended ministry times. It covers how to:
A termly gathering for people who frequently face challenging ministry situations and offer regular 1 to 1 ministry sessions.
We believe that it really is possible to find relief and freedom from the issues which limit the fullness of life which God intended for us.

When the Spirit fell on the first believers on the day of Pentecost, the most striking evidence of this new age of the Spirit was that they all spoke in other languages, reversing the curse of Babel (Genesis 11:7) and providing a vivid demonstration of God’s heart and commission for the Church to go to ‘all nations’ (Matthew 28:19). Each evening begins with refreshments. There is then a talk followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple.

In the era before Christ, the Holy Spirit was certainly present, but working sovereignly in creation or in anointing those few that God raised up for the purposes of his Kingdom plan. The prophets of old looked forward to a new age when everyone would be given the Spirit in the messianic kingdom. That is what the prophet Joel wrote, quoted by Peter in Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost. The early Church was so convinced that the Spirit was for everyone that if the gift of the Spirit didn’t appear to happen they sent the apostles to pray (e.g. Acts 8, Acts 19). Bible Ref 1 Corinthians 12

The book of Genesis describes a context of work existing before the fall. Just as God works and rests, so human beings made in his image do so too. In fact not to have work is as much as a curse as the post fall drudgery of work. How do we find a blessing in the workplace and in voluntary vocations that speaks of us being made in the image of God? Download discussion notes
