The Thursday Night Project

The Thursday Night Project offers people a time to meet others, reflect on spiritual issues, share ideas and building relationships. There is a continual focus moving forward, forming groups and building further Missional Communities within the Church. Although there is always opportunity for people to pray and be prayed for, worship and access support, our main goal is to provide an opportunity for people to connect in some way, while they make decisions about the future. La Ruca

A vibrant pastorate meeting fortnightly at La Ruca café on the Gloucester Rd.

Devotion

Devotion is the youth congregation of Woodlands Church. It meets during term time on Friday evenings at 7.30pm in the crypt of the church. The age of the congregation is 13-18 years old. Mango

MANGO is a pastorate that is open to all people with a desire to meet other Christians and explore more about the love of Jesus. The group contain a wide range of different people including single folk, couples, married with young families and older families - all are welcome!

"Envisioned and strengthened for mission everyday"

Our vision is to grow deeper in our love for Jesus and, as a result have hearts for mission everyday. We want to help each other discover how to do mission that fits our shape, and be resourced and supported in that.

Daytime Homegroup

Daytime group for women is the place to be real and seek God in a friendly environment. There is opportunity to 'go deeper' in worship, Bible study, prayer ministry, in a safe place where use of gifts is actively encouraged. Children are welcome and there is a crèche available to care for them as required. Women from any of the congregations are welcome.

We meet at Henleaze and Westbury church Hall, Eastfield road on Fridays from 9.45-11.45am during term times. Nettie and Dave's Group

This group meets together once a month to eat cakes, drink coffee, worship, look at and discuss the bible and pray for each other. This group is suited for people who are more mature in age and meets the 1st Wednesday of the month in Cotham. Led by Nettie Matthews and David Mitchell. Open Access

It's a flexible group used by a wide range of people:- those who are free on Thursday morning and just want to come; people who feel on the edge of church; those with mental health issues; people with learning difficulties; people of other nationalities; those who have served time in prison; people breaking free from addictions. Meets weekly on Thursdays, 10 am to 12.30 pm in the crypt. Led by Trudie Lane and Steve Smith.

East Bristol

East Bristol Pastorate is a cluster of 3 home groups. We are developing a more missional focus. We believe in the power of ordinary believers rubbing shoulders with other people. We meet twice a month, once for a meal and social occasion that is deliberately outward looking to people not normally part of the group, and once a month for something else which isn’t introspective!

Montpelier

South Bristol

This pastorate is made up of many people who live all over south Bristol. This group seeks to see south Bristol reached which includes partnering with other churches in the area.

The Hub

The Hub is the place to come to if you want to meet new people, and get involved in some fun family activities.

Our aim is to help people get connected. We welcome people of all ages, shapes and sizes, and although we are a Christian group you don't have to be a Christian to come to our events. These involve activities such as hiking, sports, eating, games, more eating, and a great family atmosphere.

Sunshine Experiment

A big focus on social action and justice. Sharing God's love in lots of practical ways. Meeting at different times in different places. Meeting at the community house of ADH (Ashley Down House) in Cotham. For people who are part of the extended ADH family and those nearby. Meeting for worship and plenty of eating. Brislington

Meeting in the area of Brislington to see the community reached, loved and transformed by Jesus. Regular meetings include in a pub as well as small groups in the area. Led by Ali Hender. Women's Daytime Group (Brislington)

Thrive

This is one of the Urban Mission Partnerships at Woodlands with a commitment to the area of St George and Lawrence Hill, especially working with young people. Musically Inspired

The vision is to use music as a way of sharing Jesus and blessing people. This is being done through putting on open-mic nights, playing music in retirement homes and anywhere else they can play! Sports

The vision is to use sport as a way of introducing people to Jesus and using it to build up and bless communities. There's a mixture of discipleship, getting involved with community projects using sport and probably a lot of sitting around watching football... Footprints

This is a new group working specifically with adults with learning difficulties, there's no age limit and all are welcome. Meeting at Woodlands every fortnight there will be games, music and looking at the bible. Spaces are limited at the moment. Woodies Rangers

This is the rather successful Woodlands football team. Training on Monday nights and games mainly on Saturday. Men's Network Group

The idea is to support men who are in church, looking at who God wants us to be and to provide a positive, safe and accountable environment to do this. Life Recovery Group

Homeless Ministry

This works to reach and bless the homeless in Bristol. Affiliated with the Bristol Soup Run Trust, Woodies has a team of people who help with a soup run each week led by Pete Bartlett and Lucy Connors. Chronic Illness Social and Support Group

The Chronic Illness Social and Support Group meets once a month for lunch on a Sunday in the crypt. Refresh

Based in BS3 (Victoria Park, Bedminster and Southville) with weekly Thursday night 'refreshing' meetings, fortnightly Saturday morning intercession and various outreaches, including healing on the streets, meals, local churches together, community houses etc. Our vision for BS3 and South Bristol is Isaiah 35, 'the desert and parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom...'
