Jessica Piper
La Paz, Bolivia

Jessica is volunteering with International Justice Mission (IJM) as a Government Relations Fellow in La Paz, Bolivia. IJM is a Christian human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators, and to promote functioning public justice systems.

Jessica is working to put together a government relations strategy for structural transformation of the judicial and police systems in Bolivia, in particular to deal with issues such as child abuse and human trafficking.

IJM’s staff stand against violent oppression in many countries around the world, in response to the Bible’s call to justice (Isaiah 1:17): Seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.
